How gracious to the Lord above to have lights this morning. It has been a rough 11 days, times like these make you realize just how lucky you are, or in my case perhaps how spoiled one can be in this day and time. On Tues night 2-3-09 it was 46 degrees in my house and my daughter and I went to bed with multiple layers of clothing on and a coat on top of that.
I know I have moaned and groaned about all of this but I also know it could have been worse. We did both catch colds during the disaster, but home is still standing and loved ones are still alive.
My husband has worked so hard these past few weeks trying to take care of everyone...from my mother to his brother and sister. Feeding, starting/stopping generators all the way to providing food for 200 head of cattle. It was non stop. May God Bless Trenton and the good deeds he does for his family and friends.
If you would, just take a moment to stop and Thank God this morning for what you have and how lucky we truly are. Not only today but everyday.

Vied Christmas 2008
Hello out there in computer land! This is my first time blogging SO if I mess something up, please forgive me! Perhaps I will learn as I go.
I just wanted to share last nights experience and hope that someone else would find it as sweet as I did.
As most of you know, my husband Trenton works a public job and then comes home and runs his 300 acre farm so needless to say my daughter Lindsey and I don't get to spend alot of time with him. Bless his heart, last night he TOOK the time out to go see Santa Claus with us both and have dinner. This is the first year that Lindsey really realizes who Santa is, so it was a special time for us all. We went driving through the lights at the Mike Miller park then Santa awaited us at the end of the ride. We got out and stood, and stood in the COLD...just so she could "talk" to Santa. She seemed excited and I as looked in Trenton's eyes I seen the love he has for his little girl. It was finally her turn to talk to Santa, we took up there and she hid her face!! She wouldn't talk to him for anything. I was a bit embarrased, but Santa told me not to worry lots of kids didnt want to talk to him!! However she did sit long enough to make a picture with him and give her Mom & Dad a brief moment of sadness (she is growing too fast) and happiness at the same time.
Lidnsey will be 3 in January so hopefully next year she will understand a little more about baby Jesus and not just Santa. We don't want to get stuck on just Santa and not the real reason for Christmas!
